Exploring posthuman thinking through designing a multisensory VR installation redefining the human body
Symbiosis is a performative, multiuser, and multisensory VR installation that reimagines the human body through posthuman and symbiotic perspectives. Drawing on Donna Haraway’s Staying with the Trouble, the work explores how technology, biology, and design can merge to create new forms of embodiment and interdependence between human, animal, and machine. My role focused on developing responsive inflatables and soft robotics integrated into wearable suits, using 3D modeling, printing, and silicone molding to enhance the tactile and immersive dimensions of the experience.

Before and during the first part of my master I worked at Polymorf on the project Symbiosis.
Symbiosis is a performative, multiuser and multisensory VR installation in which the human body is redesigned. It allows every participant to embody a post-human or even nonhuman reality: a completely symbiotic human-animal or human technologic relationship.
This project is based on Donna Haraway’s Staying with the Trouble and introduced me to posthuman thinking and artistic research.
In this project I helped design and develop inflatables and softrobotics inside the suits using 3D modeling, 3D printing, and silicone
molding.
